Who Will Become the Next Miss Afrikana USA?

We are launching a cross-country recruitment for an outstanding woman of African heritage to showcase culture, leadership, and vision while representing the United States at Miss Afrikana International in Ghana on November 11, 2027.
This digital national selection model was developed to offer women nationwide the chance to join without the typical costs and constraints of traditional pageant contests.
The upcoming Miss Afrikana USA will be chosen by December, 2026, giving her twelve months to ready herself for the global finals, enhance her social advocacy, bond further with her African roots, support her local community, and get ready to act as a primary ambassador for the United States on the world stage.

SELECTION PROCESS
Virtual Path to the Crown
• Submit online application, documents, and photos.
• Application and eligibility review.
• Preliminary virtual interview.
• Official candidates receive state-title assignments.
• Candidate profiles published for People’s Choice.
• Top 15 national semifinalists are selected.
• Final Five complete virtual interviews and presentations.
• Winner selected Dec 15; announced Dec 18, 2026.
• Entire selection is virtual.

FROM NATIONAL QUEEN TO INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE
When you win Miss Afrikana USA 2027, you don't simply receive a crown and sash.
You earn the opportunity to represent the United States on the international stage—and MAUSA invests in preparing you to get there.
REQUIRED PHOTO AND VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
To complete the application, each applicant must submit all three photographs and one introduction video.
PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT
• Recent color photograph taken within the last 12 months
• Head-and-shoulders framing
• Face clearly visible
• Plain or uncluttered background
• No crown, sash, sunglasses, filters, or excessive retouching
• High-resolution JPG or PNG
FULL-BODY PHOTOGRAPH
• Recent photograph showing the applicant from head to toe
• Wear a tasteful, fitted dress, jumpsuit, or professional outfit
• Stand with natural posture
• Use a plain background and good lighting
• No crown, sash, filters, or body-altering edits
• High-resolution JPG or PNG
SWIMSUIT PHOTOGRAPH
• Recent full-body photograph
• Wear a tasteful, solid-color, one-piece swimsuit
• The applicant must be visible from head to toe
• Stand facing the camera with natural posture
• Use a plain background and good lighting
• No crown, sash, cover-up, sunglasses, filters, or body-altering edits
• High-resolution JPG or PNG
The swimsuit photograph is required for confidential judging and evaluation. We will not display it on the website, People’s Choice profile, social media, or promotional materials without the applicant’s separate written permission.

• Wear tasteful, professional attire

• A smartphone may be used
• Upload the video or provide a working, accessible link
Applications missing any required photograph or video will be considered incomplete and may not be reviewed.
Applicants must confirm that they own or have permission to submit all photographs and videos. The professional headshot, full-body photograph, and introduction video may be used for the website, People’s Choice, social media, and promotional purposes. The swimsuit photograph will remain confidential unless separate written authorization is provided.
